In the UK, 3 in every 5 people will become carers at some point in their lives. Founded in 2013, we have given away nearly 200 free holidays to unpaid carers and their families. Kingham Cottage provides a chance to take time out to relax and unwind in idyllic surroundings five minutes from the City of Bath. Our beneficiaries return to their caring duties rejuvenated and cherish the time spent with their families creating new happy memories.
Kingham Cottage is a beautiful retreat that overlooks views of the Midford Valley in Somerset. Exposed beams, a secluded patio, an inglenook fireplace, and a roll-top bath create a luxurious home for up to four people. You can find peace and tranquility alongside the amenities and historic sights of Bath.
We offer this accommodation free of charge for up to four nights and each applicant is allowed up to three stays. To book your free break, there is a short referral form that you can download from every page of our website.
Staying in touch is easy by signing up for our newsletter. We’d be delighted if you could tell every unpaid carer you know about After Umbrage so they can come and stay with us.
You can book Kingham Cottage as a paying guest safe in the knowledge that 100% of the proceeds from your booking go to sustaining free breaks for carers. It’s our main fundraising avenue. It’s easy to book via our website.
