Home-Start Arun, Worthing and Adur was founded in 1999, we have been supporting local families with young children who are going through challenging times for 21 years. We have supported over 2,278 families with more than 4,783 children in that time.
Home-Start services start with the family, in their home. We believe that each child has a better start with their parents at home, supported, connected and feeling part of their community. We train local parents and we match with them families who are going through challenging times. Parenting little ones is not easy and we all need help sometimes. We are there for parents when they need us.
Our volunteers provide empathy, emotional support, practical help and guidance and are there for parents every week for as long as they need us. Parents need us as an extra pair of hands with twins, if there is poor mental health or a physical health problem, if parents feel isolated and alone, if parents feel they are not coping with multiple children under 5 or have a poorly child. Parents describe us as their “lifeline” and we hope to continue to be around for as long as parents need us.
It costs £1,300 to support one family for a year. We raise all the funds ourselves as a small, local charity and your contribution through Charitable Travel will make a huge difference. We support over 200 families each year and we need your support. Thank you for considering us.
