Why we do what we do

The fact is that many Hospices are being forced to reduce the beds offered for terminally ill patients simply because they do not have the funds to maintain their availability. The result of these closures is that patients desperately in need of Hospice care are being refused or are having to travel 10’s even 100’s of miles to receive the care they need. But with our help to take the pressure off of them by providing funds for their general day to day items, the hospices will not need to reduce their beds.

Last year alone, over 41,000 patients occupied 3,500 beds, as the need for dedicated palliative care in the community increases to grow, for both the young and old, so does the need to fund the hospices which take on this responsibility. On average, the Government fund around only 30% of the monies needed to run a hospice and, therefore, other sources of income are needed, which is where we come in. Some Hospices simply don’t have the resources to raise these extra funds. That is where we come in and with your help we can, without question, continue to provide for the Hospices.

How we help

We give without exception, and to date, we have never refused a hospice that has contacted us for help. We give funds when it’s needed, where it’s needed. The help we provide includes supplying equipment such as syringe drivers, pressure relieving mattresses, mortuary beds and much more and, also, specially made chairs to simply help a patient to sit up comfortably.

Our Emergency funding is essential to some Hospices and they do rely on our help to ensure that they have the equipment and supplies to provide unsurpassed care 100% of the time.
