Lizzi’s Luxury Edit: Remarkable new luxury hotels

Remarkably, given the fact that much of the world is going through a post-pandemic economic recovery, new luxury hotels continue to open every day. The following are a few that have caught my eye over the last few weeks:

Atlantis the Royal: The biggest buzz in the travel industry is the opening of this huge hotel in Dubai. This imposing structure will be sure to make its mark on the Dubai skyline. It is visually stunning and ultra-luxurious. With 17 restaurants, a 90-metre rooftop pool and a 5000sq metre wellness centre, this incredible hotel will suit clients who like a busy hotel with lots going on.

Meneghetti Wine Hotel & Winery: In complete contrast, the Meneghetti Wine Hotel & Winery hotel in Croatia is a wonderful new addition for those looking for luxurious simplicity and superb food and wine. The Meneghetti is located on a hilltop village overlooking the Adriatic Coast. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, this is a very different Croatian experience and would appeal to clients who want to escape from the world and chill in beautiful surroundings.

Jumeirah Muscat Bay: Jumeirah Hotels have expanded into Oman and the new Jumeirah Muscat Bay has all the glamour one would expect from the hotel group that brought us the iconic Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai.  I stayed in “The Sail” when it was one of just a few hotels in Dubai, with the backdrop of the desert. This new hotel in Muscat reminds me of the days when Dubai was little known and there was a certain magic in gazing at the stars over the vast mass of untouched land beyond the beach.  The Jumeirah Muscat Bay is a serene beach resort, set between the dramatic Al Hajar mountains and the sparkling Arabian Sea. Muscat is easy to reach from the UK and can even be done in a long weekend!

Zoetry Marigot Bay: Over in St Lucia, Zoetry Marigot Bay reopens on 1st December 2022.  I stayed here before it had a complete revamp and can confirm that it stands on a stunning bay with amazing views. The rooms are enormous. It will now be an all-inclusive hotel offering four restaurants, a kids club and a free airport shuttle.

Jolly Beach: Last but not least, I must mention the Jolly Beach, Antigua, an old favourite which is due to reopen after a massive facelift. This lovely four-star hotel has been sorely missed while it has been closed. It is not five-star luxury, but it is great for those seeking a decent hotel on a stunning beach and I think it is perfect for a multi-generational family holiday where clients might need three or four rooms but don’t want to blow the inheritance money! Welcome back!
