The cobblestone streets and colourful doorways of Paraty are full of colonial charm while remote beaches and tropical fjords aren't far away. The fun continues on the beaches of Ilha Grande, where you can go snorkelling or hike remote trails on this island paradise. Once you return to Rio de Janeiro, head on a guided tour of a favela followed by free time to explore this vibrant city as you wish. You'll be amazed by how much you'll see, do, and discover in just over a week's time.

Day 1 Rio de Janeiro
Arrive at any time. Head to a “quiosque” along Copacabana beach with your fellow travellers. Get to know the group over some drinks then head out to experience Rio’s famous nightlife.

Day 2 Rio de Janeiro/Paraty
Head out on a road trip to Paraty today! Wander the cobblestone streets as you admire the colourful doorways of this small colonial town. And the beautiful architecture is only half of Paraty's charm — just a quick boat ride away are some of the most stunning tropical beaches you will ever lay your eyes on.

Day 3 Paraty
Explore Saco do Mamanguá, a tropical fjord, by kayak, stop off at remote beaches to explore white sand beaches that meet the jungle.

Day 4 Paraty/Ilha Grande
Continue the road trip up the coast, winding past little towns and turquoise bays. Take the ferry to Ilha Grande, aka paradise.

Day 5 Ilha Grande
Free time to explore the gorgeous beaches of Ilha Grande. Choose to hike the remote trails or take a boat trip around the island —if that's more your style — to sip on a fresh coconut, or go snorkelling.

Day 6 Ilha Grande/Rio de Janeiro
Travel back to Rio de Janeiro. The afternoon is free to discover the city how you wish. You can choose to go on a city tour to pack in all the sights like the Christ the Redeemer statue on top of Corcovado, or take a leisurely stroll along Copacabana beach.

Day 7 Rio de Janeiro
In the morning, explore the favela with a local resident on a G Adventures-supported tour to watch a drumming demonstration, get a Capoeira lesson, and sample craft beers with a new perspective of the city. Enjoy a free afternoon to discover all that Rio has to offer.
