ResiRest is a registered Social Enterprise that connects travellers with local families across the globe via uniquely created, local experiences. From having a home dinner with a family in Costa Rica to cooking in Morocco and soon even more.

Our Purpose
Our goal is to build towards a more equitable and fair tourism industry in which local people can participate and benefit too. Therefore we focus on marginalised communities who have been excluded from the travel industry and provide them with extensive training and mentoring.
ResiRest is a certified Social Enterprise. The requirements of this certification go beyond the requirements of a B-Corp. Additionally, ResiRest is the only travel organisation that is an accredited full-member of the World Fair Trade Organisation.

What better way to learn more about a country than through its food?! All our “Joining a local family at their dining table” experiences will let you experience traditional, local cuisine. You’ll be invited for a traditional meal at a local family’s house in the destination of your choice.
Not only will you taste a delicious meal, but you will also learn how to prepare it. Some family recipes are handed over from generation to generation and are hard to beat.
When the meal is ready it is time to share and taste!

You will see hidden grocery-shops, and small local markets where they sell the best products in town. The family will share stories about what food is grown and how it is grown in their region.
This experience will bring you an extra dimension of getting a taste of local life.
