About

Young Women’s Trust offers support to young women aged 18 to 30, who are living on low or no pay and want to build a better future. We campaign for young women’s equality in the workplace and our research examines what young women’s lives are really like. Young women are at the centre of the charity’s work: leading, designing and participating.

Supporting young women to work it out

Work It Out is a free service that offers support for women aged 18 to 30. It helps to unlock their potential by building skills, strong mental health and opening up opportunities for their future.

It has two parts:

Coaching – young women can book up to 6 free sessions with a coach. Coaches can help with anything from interview preparation to identifying skills and planning next steps in life.

CV and Job Application Feedback – a team of expert recruitment professionals look at CVs, cover letter’s or job application’s and can give free advice on how to improve them.

Campaigning for a fairer future

There are 1 million young women in England and Wales struggling to live on low or no pay. We raise young women’s voices to speak truth to power and campaign for a fairer working future for young women.

Real Stories with our Research Centre

The Research Centre for Young Women’s Economic Justice trains young women, who lead peer research into economic injustice. They explore the multiple barriers they face in their own lives and the lives of other young women whose voices are not heard by decision-makers.

Case Study

Siobhan’s Work It Out coach helped her to set goals and focus on what is important to her in both her professional and personal life. Read more.

“Since completing coaching, I feel I have developed so much as a person and in my career. I know how to look after myself better, I am more confident in difficult situations and I have even managed to secure two new jobs. In both interviews I have been told that my passion and enthusiasm have been the reason I’ve been offered the job and I believe that coaching has helped me to prioritise what is most important in both my professional and personal life. This has made it easy to seem enthusiastic in interviews because I am!

My friends and family have also noticed a big change in my attitude to difficult situations and I am really proud of myself for continuing to practice the skills I learned through coaching.”
