AE Expeditions is an award-winning, Australian owned expedition company celebrating its 30th anniversary year. Founded by legendary Australian Mountaineer and explorer, Greg Mortimer, we pioneered Polar Expeditions and remain committed to small, low-impact groups keen to not just see, but experience our range of remote destinations.

AE Expeditions is truly committed to environmentally responsible travel, we are committed to preserving the beauty and majesty that mother nature possesses, and we take real actions for the care of the planet, including being 100% carbon neutral.

Founded on the guiding principles of adventure and endless exploration, the small ship experience is intimate and friendly, and AE Expeditions takes you on perspective-altering experiences to some of the most remote and incredible places on earth.

Our comprehensive activity programs (including sea kayaking, polar diving and snorkelling, climbing and more) are pioneering and unique in the industry. Each expedition is accompanied by an expedition team we believe are the world’s best; remote area specialists, their onboard lectures entertain and expand your knowledge.

AE Expedition’s two purpose-built ships, the Greg Mortimer (named after our founder) and our brand-new small expedition ship the Sylvia Earle, launching November 2022, are both designed for global discovery. The new ship is named after acclaimed marine biologist, oceanographer, explorer and conservationist Dr. Sylvia Earle.

Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another thrilling adventure, our original goals remain unchanged. Explore wild places that stir the soul, offer personal attention on unforgettable expeditions and welcome new friends into the AE Expeditions family.
