We keep families together helping them overcome an array of hardships they face, putting a stop to family separation, and providing the best possible outcome for the life of each child. Supporting families in difficult circumstances allows children to remain at home instead of being taken into care.
In 2022, we helped 15,000 children and families escape abuse, enjoy their right to an education, and overcome poverty to keep children safe and in loving homes. We also supported vulnerable displaced children in rural displaced migrant communities along the Myanmar-Thailand border, made parents aware of their children’s rights and how to protect them, increased awareness and understanding of child protection issues, and trained over 500 teachers on child protection principles. Additionally, we helped 2,048 children get birth registration in Thailand allowing them to access rights such as proper healthcare and education.
At the core of all the projects we support, the key aim is to keep children safe and protect them from danger and provide them with opportunities.

health and nutrition
Our health and nutrition programmes ensure that children are provided with essential health services and nutritious meals.
education for all
Our projects provide quality and inclusive education within the Thai education system and through non-formal education, vocational training, and teacher training. We ensure that every vulnerable child such as those fleeing war, or those who are abandoned, at-risk, alone, or with disabilities can access education whether it be in day-care centres, migrant learning centres for young refugees, or government schools.
child protection
Protecting children from danger is at the forefront of all Safe Child Thailand’s work. The projects we support provide safe refuge, and access to social services to vulnerable children.
anti-trafficking and safe migration
Many children born in rural villages or migrant communities may not have their births registered as they don’t have access to hospitals or maternity care. Obtaining identity documentation later in life is extremely difficult without proof of birth or parentage. This puts them more at risk of trafficking and exploitation. We work to protect the child victims of trafficking and exploitation and work within migrant communities to help families who are most at risk protect their children through our Birth Registration Programme. We work with communities to ensure that children are provided with identity documents and access to programmes that safeguard them from exploitation, child labour, and modern slavery.
