The Anglo-Jordanian Society was founded in 1981 on the initiative of HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal and today has well over 400 members.
As the only official UK-based charity for Jordan our mission is to promote friendship and understanding between the people of the two countries, as well as providing relief from need, hardship and distress in Jordan through small local charities and NGOs that often get overlooked.
In the last 15 years the AJS has contributed over £180,000 to such causes and at this time of well-documented political and humanitarian uncertainty and suffering in the region, is committed to continue to invest in the well-being of thousands of adults and children, particularly in the less headline grabbing areas such as mental health and disability.
One of our nominated charities is Al-Hadaf Institute that provides support for the orphans in Jordan and the social and cultural injustices they suffer. Al-Hadaf helps any child who has lost quality care and experienced neglect, This includes traditional orphans as well as social orphans, unsupervised children, street children, and abandoned children. Al-Hadaf also assists neglected refugees, both adults and children, who are considered war orphans.
We are proud to be supporters of Al-Hadaf Institute and raise much need charitable funds on their behalf.
