Charitable Travel joins the GSTC

We’re delighted to announce that Charitable Travel is now a member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), as part of our commitment to sustainable and ethical travel practices.

The GSTC establishes and helps manage global sustainable standards in the travel industry, helping to increase awareness and demand for responsible travel. Charitable Travel is already recognised as a unique social enterprise travel company, which supports philanthropy in general and specifically a wide range of charities chosen by our customer stakeholders when they book holidays and travel through our agency. The choice of transport method, lodging and sightseeing – to ensure that the holidays are as sustainable as possible – is always at the forefront of our product selection and discussions with customers. We accept that not every customer will be tuned to sustainability however we are committed to advance this agenda, but also accept that simply by booking with Charitable Travel our customers are making a substantial donation to a good cause as part of our #travelforgood methodology.

Our founder and CEO Melissa Tilling will be attending the GSTC conference in Antalya, Turkey from the 9th – 12th of May to meet with other like-minded organisations and represent Charitable Travel, working on ways to further improve sustainability within our offering to the customer. We look forward to continuing our work in sustainable travel moving forward as GSTC members.
