The Livingstone Tanzania Trust is a UK-registered charity working with communities in rural Tanzania, who are struggling to give their children the education they want for them, and the education they need, to improve their lives and the lives of their families, their community, and their country.
The hardships that adults and children face each and every morning can be overcome but it is easier and faster when a friend helps.
By working in partnership with the community, LTT offers a hand-up, to support the community to improve their school’s infrastructure and ensure there are sufficient resources for teaching and learning. We focus on the health and well-being of the children to ensure they want to come to school and feel safe when they are there, especially for girls.
We also work closely with the adults in the community to support them, through training and mentoring, to improve their income diversity and income security so that they can afford the costs of further education.
Our approach to development is seeing fantastic results in attendance, academic performance and community engagement in the education journey which is bringing real hope to the community.
