About us
SALTO is one of Luton’s largest community sports clubs, we give young people regular access to a range of gymnastic activities from the trampoline to acrobatic gymnastics and other fun activities to maintain children’s health and fitness. Our mission is to improve our community’s health and mental well-being through gymnastics in a safe environment. We use this incredible sport to transferable skills that can help throughout their lives.
What we do
We currently have around 800 active registered members and a large group of drop-in users of our three weekly PlayGym sessions, Gym based holiday camps and Gym Birthday Parties.
SALTO is on the cusp of the next exciting phase in our development. Following the appointment of Phil Heathcote, our new Head Coach, in June, we are set to make positive changes to not only the structure and content of our classes to make them more enjoyable and effective for our gymnasts but under his guidance, we will also improve the quality of the coaching too.
SALTO operates in Sundon Park which is one of the most deprived wards in the town. This demonstrates the need for SALTO to provide low-cost physical activities. Membership waiting lists are often oversubscribed with waiting times from 3 to 6 months before we can offer places for some age-groups.
CASE STUDY
'I just wanted to send over a quick email as a huge thank you. We came to club championships with our twins who are level 1 and 2 (6-year-olds) 'J' and 'M'.
They had an absolute blast and loved every second of it coming out with huge beams on their face. It was such a proud moment. We could really see how far they had progressed in their short time at SALTO.
As for the event, omg [sic] it was run beautifully, everything ran like clockwork it really shows how tight the SALTO team are also seeing the smiles from the team was amazing you guys really care about the kids and it shows.
Thank you so much to all the team for a fantastic event and a truely [sic] amazing club. We've been through other places with the older kids and nowhere seems as family orientated as SALTO.
We are all looking forward to the next event.
