Save The Bay is an independent, member-supported, non-profit organization. Established in 1970, when a small group of concerned citizens came together to fight an oil refinery proposed for the shores of Tiverton. Their work began a legacy as the eyes, ears and voice for Narragansett Bay. Today the organisation’s mission is carried out through three areas of work: advocacy, education, and habitat restoration and adaptation.
Every year, more than 4,000 volunteers play a vital role in every aspect of Save The Bay’s work—from supporting special events and tackling beach cleanups to assisting administrative housekeeping, habitat adaptation and more. Without volunteers, the organisation couldn’t accomplish all that they do to protect and improve Narragansett Bay.
