Charitable Travel is a 'travel for good' start-up that allows you to donate 5 per cent of the cost of your holiday to a UK registered charity of your choice. Launched in June by Melissa Tilling, who was managing director of Funway Holidays for 11 years [sic], it sells trips worldwide, with part of the commission normally taken by a travel agent redirected to worthwhile causes.

TTG Media, the travel trade news outlet has revealed the shortlist for the Top 50 Travel Agencies 2021, and we made the cut in the online category! We are also one of 7 travel agencies that are all finalists for the first time!

Being nominated and shortlisted in our first year of business is fantastic, especially when the year is 2020! We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our travel and charity partners and our customers. Without you we cannot deliver our social purpose to help fundraising for great causes selling #TravelforGood!

Sure, book a volunteering vacation with a reputable grass-roots NGO, use a travel company with an established charitable foundation or simply sign up for an excursion with a local indigenous guide. See original adobe settlements in New Mexico’s Rio Grande valley with the Native Americans of Taos Pueblo or tour Madidi National Park in Bolivia with the Uchupiamonas. Or if you don’t want to devote your entire trip to an NGO’s mission, Charitable Travel is similar to a typical travel agent in the UK, except that a portion of the price of your high-end package holiday bought from this social enterprise goes to a charitable cause of your choosing.
